Text Input - Macromedia Flex General Discussion

Lastly I've made a Flex app with a lot of form fields. The app was running on Vista with Explorer. We experienced slow keybord response when typing characters. This is very annoying when entering a lot of data. Anyone else had experience with this? I think it is a Vista issue. Is this a know problem? Michel...

    I couldn't get the event listener in the main app in the following code to
    work, maybe someone else can comment, but this small app does show how to
    access components in the main app from a custom component, using
    Application.application, and also binding:

    --------- components/MyTextInput.mxml ------------
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:HBox xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" width="400" height="300">
    <mx:Script>
    <![CDATA[
    import mx.core.Application;
    ]]>
    </mx:Script>
    <mx:Label text="Enter name:" fontSize="24"/>
    <mx:TextInput id="txt" fontSize="24"
    change="Application.application.lbl2.text=txt.text "/>
    </mx:HBox>
    ------------------- Test.mxml (main app) ----------------------
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    creationComplete="init()" xmlns:comp="components.*">
    <mx:Script>
    <![CDATA[
    private function init():void{
    compTXT.addEventListener(Event.CHANGE, changeHandler);
    }

    private function changeHandler(event:Event):void{
    trace("got here");
    var lbl:Label = Label(event.target);
    lbl3.text = lbl.text;
    }
    ]]>
    </mx:Script>
    <comp:MyTextInput id="compTXT"/>
    <mx:Label text="{compTXT.txt.text}" fontSize="24"/>
    <mx:Label id="lbl2" fontSize="24"/>
    <mx:Label id="lbl3" fontSize="24"/>
    </mx:Application>
