Thanks for the reply...Yes you are right aparantly it is the same...so I have just found out. What has thrown me was for some reason it wouldn't work when I wanted it to. I have still have the project with "202020" as the type to add lighting effects to and it doesnt work. However, when opening up a new project and doing the same it does work! Very strange... anyway..thanks again for the reply.

Trouble with Lighting Effects
For the record I had exactly the same problem and also resolved it with a restart. I am running Panther 10.3 and PhotoShop CS 8.0. -
Ok here's the fix for missing lighting effects presets for win2k
well why could adobe not figure this one out ? Go to the plugins folder right click the folder-properties-advanced Folder ready for archiving...
