Text Matching
Hi everyone.
I am working with an Illustrator 9.0 drawing that was given to my, drawn by someone else. I'm just trying to do some updating to it. What I can't figure out is what text was used. I can find one that looks similar, but doesn't appear to be quite as fat I guess you could say. Yes, I tryed Bolding it, that doesn't help. I've also noticed that all of the text previously created is individual letters only...??? I reacently added some text to the project using the Text tool and when I select it the program tells me what type of text it is, the size, spacing and all that sort of stuff in the text box at the bottom of my screen. However, when select the text previously put into the drawing (the stuff that is individual letters only) it doesn't say anything about it. It's like it wasn't created using the text tool or something. Is this possible? Is there another way to creat text that I don't know about? Is there a way to match the previous text exactly?
Thank you,

Re: Text Matching
The text has probably been converted to curves, so you are unable to extract the font and size information used to create it as text. You can rasterize the file as a GIF, then upload it to a website that can identify the font for you. Someone after me will tell you what that website is, as I forget.
You can also post it here of i nAdobe's Typography forum, where someone is likely familiar with the font in question.
