Text size ems/percentage problem

Firefox, Opera displays the text the size it should while IE displays it a
size bigger. I can't figure out what the problem could be, suggestions?

I find it exactly the same size in both my Firefox and IE.
I am wondering if it perhaps it is the setting you may have in each browser for the default text size?

Both browser's are on normal. I was told that IE renders verdana with more letter spacing than FF does. Also that em is better for fonts like times and georgia is this true?

Perhaps. I don't know.
I don't think so. em is just a relative measure, like en, ex, or percent.> Also that em is better for fonts like times and georgia is this true?
It says to take the default size and adjust it by the em multiple.
