Text Slice not Exporting

I'm new to this forum, thanks in advance for any help. I'm using Fireworks 4.0.2 on Mac OS 9.1.When I export the file with a text slice the text doesn't show up in IE. Fireworks 2.0 had a Text (no image) option in the Export List of the slice object panel but I don't see this in Fireworks 4.0.2.
The text slice shows up as a GIF in the code. What am I missing?

Hi Chorgi,

The option you are looking for is on the Property inspector. It shows up
when you click on the slice. Change the slice type default from Image to
HTML, then click on the Edit button to open a window into which you can
enter the text.
