Default Text string problem when saving from CS to 8.0.

When I open files (using 8.0) that have been saved in CS back to legacy 8.0eps, the text fragments and compresses. Is anyone else had this problem? And if so how may I fix it?
    Thanks.

    Mark,

That will happen, I'm afraid. Especially if the CS file used any
    transparency.
