Text style that does NOT affect tabs!!! Please.... - Macromedia Freehand

Hi guys...and dolls.... A little thing: for our department it's "catalogue time" and as usual all is done in FH! Every year I create a couple of text and graphic styles to ensure a consistent workflow and appearance. Now my thing: I can't create a textstyle that doesn't alter the tabs already existing in the text i want to use. Last year we've created some text tables (tech specs and so on) and I want to apply a new text-style to it WITHOUT altering ( or getting rid of...) the Tabs.
In the Style window one might click "no slection" right above the tab settings of the style but i can't click this button anymore....so that was one thing that supposed to work and it was the setting to use to achieve the issue above.....ANY ideas etc Any Help is welcome!

I don't know why we can't check 'no selection' above the Tab ruler. Looks
like a bug to me. Report it to the FH wishlist:
    FreeHand Wish List <wish-freehandmacromedia.com>

Workaround: If you choose "No Selection" from the pop-up menu at the bottom
of the Edit Style dialog it clears all settings. You can then reselect your
font, font size, etc. The 'no selection' checkbox in the tab ruler will
    remain checked.

This new style won't alter existing tabs on my admittedly limited tests
here. See if this solves the problem for you.
