Default text taking on a shape

Hello, I am a newbie to Flash. Is there a way to make a word take on a
shape. I don't mean text filling a text box shape or animate the
shape of text. For example let's say I have the word, "fish", is
there a way to make the whole word look like the outline of a fish?

    Thank you in advance :)

well you could fiddle with the word in illustrator or freehand after
making it outlined (a vector object, not text anymore) but that's
    kinda hard..

easiest way i can think is to make a mask in the shape of a fish and
lay that over your word in flash. remember that masks won't work on
dynamic text unless the text is embedded (i think)

Hmmm...I guess I'll have to learn another program. Thank you for the
mask suggestion. It kind of cuts off some of the letter shapes, not
quite the effect I was going for but it is a solution of sorts :)
Also thank you for the reminder about the dynamic text.
