text within a gif file
Hi people, I am creating buttons within Illustrator and then exporting via the save for web commad, the problem I am having is that my text is not as legible as it appears in Illustrator (when I preview it as a gif file) the change is very minor but still.
The settings I have used are
Helvetica Bold size 8 pt.
Save for Web:
Gif
Lossy 0
Selective
Colors 256
Diffussion
Dither 100%
Transparency checked
Web Snap 0%
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Re: text within a gif file
8-point type is pretty dang small to be using for the web. Make sure when you look at your type in Illustrator, you're doing it at 100%, since that's what you'll get for web use.

Re: text within a gif file
Lee,
before saving for web apply the Rasterize effect to the text. In the option dialog box choose *Type Optimized* for Anti-aliasing. Now the type should look better when you save a gif.
