Default Text wrapping nightmare (FH MXa now)

Oh dear, when will IT EVER END! Why can't FH wrap text? I'm using FH MXa, but FH8, 9, 10 and 11 all did the same things, namely either causing wrapped text to disappear randomly or "remembering" the text wrap, even when the wrapping element is deleted or moved. This is regardless of fonts or other stuff, it would seem to be purely a fualt in Freehand.

This is causing a nightmare here - I need to make a simple adjustment to a layout, but it's not reflowing to around elements that have moved. This is consuming time since I have yet to work out the solution, and like most other people I charge for my time.

Now sometimes when I open a file, print a PS file and distill it, send the PDF to the publication WITHOUT TOUCHING ANY ELEMENTS, the text wrap will have changed. So the ad is wrong. So we have to compensate the client. So we have to double check absolutely everything, even on the most simple jobs. Which takes time.

I'm getting pretty tired of this sh*t. I'm ready to move to Ilustrator, especially since I also use P/Shop and Indesign.

I should say that I've used FH since v2, but I've had enough.

I'm wondering if the font used in your FH layout is not the same version
with the exact same metrics as the font used by the printer. A very slight
difference in baseline shift or kerning might cause these errors.

I would be very surprised if it came down to that. This shows up on screen - text just disappears. Usually a line or two of text. If I bring the text box to the front, the text "unwraps" as you would expect, but if I go "undo" (Not send to back, just hitting command-z), the text wraps correctly. This is what I normally do to correct the problem. I suppose it could have something to do with the font metrics since they are Type 1 fonts, but it is very very odd and annoying.
