Textures
I would like to make a point about textures and the new graphical previews. The graphical previews are just fine but when you have a long list of textures it takes a long time to reach the right texture.
Moreover when are finihed with your desired texture the drop down menu gets back at the beginning and not at your last position.
Maybe I am missign something and I would like to know whether you share my view ?
Regards

Re: Textures
I share it. That is also why I let go of all the bogus Textures that
were sitting in there but never used. Maybe a good tip for you to do
too! ;-)

Re: Textures
I'm with you on this one. I guess someone thought it was a good idea... I
like the way the textures previewed in MX, and I'd like to see this carried
over to preview the gradients, rather than seeing them all at once. What MM
have done this time kind of lacks finesse.

Re:Textures
I couldn't agree more. I don't like the new texture list, very unusable.

Re: Textures
There should be an option which can be set On or Off, as with many
Fireworks features...

textures
I've made a church with textures in 3DSMAX v4.2, and then convert it to w3d.
I have three target spots and a camera.
If a do a render in 3DSMAX v4.2, the textures are showed without problems.
But, if I put the w3d's file in Director, I can't see the textures.
Does DirectorMX support textures?
Thanks,

Re: textures
Not only does what you see in the 3D rendering window of 3DS Max is not what
you get in Director, but the same goes for the Shockwave 3D exporter preview
window. The only way to see whether your scene exports neatly is to view
your W3D file either in Director or in the W3D Viewer
During export, there must messages stating that you use unsupported shaders.
For example, multitexturing is not supported. You have to bake your texture
before exporting to Shockwave 3D.
However, Shockwave 3D is not limited as there are 8 texture layers:
diffuse map, gloss map, reflection map, diffuse lightmap, specular
lightmap...
Karl.
