    Default Thank you Challengers

I arrived home tonight very tired, very down .... it was a rough day. I
sat down and turned on my computer and what did I get?

A lawyer from Zimbabwe who wanted me to do a shady deal for lots of money.
Two horney house wives that picked me out of all the men in the world to
have a hot time ... just for a few bucks. Someone the offering me a penis
enlargement ... GUARANTEED!!!! A land slide of offers for various forms of
    Viagra.

There was a Challenge entry! One shining entry! One bit of sanity in what
seems like an insane world of cyber space. While all else went plunk on
shinning entry made it all worth while.

Thank you gang for giving me a bit of beauty and sanity in cyber space.

If we could only deal the spammers what the "do not call" thing did for telemarketers.

We never could figure out why spammers are so persistant? Could there be mindless people who really actually click on this stuff? Is there really money being made? There must be, otherwise they would not be still doing it. Just cannot imagine? So much a nuisance for normal computer users, we must have a well used delete key.

Oh well, back to the good stuff in life like PSE, cooking dinner, and grandkids.

When I had Earthlink I used to get slammed with spam. I've had SBC for about three months and haven't gotten one, not one, piece of spam... go figure, but I'm much happier.

The most silly thing is that, these companies really think we, the customers, are going to do
business with a company that introduce itself with a subject line that's a lie... (i.e. Your left me
a message for viagra or Your reports are ready for car insurance, etc.) I don't even trust a real
sales clerk unless he / she convince me otherwise... :)

Earthlink! Yes I have it, they bought our tiny local ISP. I wonder if I changed, if my spam would go away. But I would lose my origional e-mail address that all my family and friends know by heart.
    This is interesting,,,,,,

I used to write TV episodics and let me tell you something, Grant...

You take that lawyer from Zimbabwe, add the two horney housewives, have them start a penis enlargement business and you've got yourself the Fox network's next hit!

Because it's cheap. They need barely any rate of return on the effort,
because each piece of email costs so little to send.

There is a lot of money being made, unfortunately. IMHO, the Internet is
due for an overhaul. Two big things need to change:

    * There needs to be 100% authentication. No forged email.
    * Recipients need the option of being paid to read someone else's email.
Imagine how little spam you would get if you were able to charge a sender a
fee if they turned out to be someone you didn't want to get email from. The
big reason spam is such a problem is that you and I are bearing the brunt of
the costs, not the original sender (compare to junk postal mail, where the
sender pays good money for the USPS to deliver it).

    And you could call it:

    hmm, lets see...

    "Great Expectations" (nope, taken)
    "Home Improvement" (nope, taken)
    "Risky Business" (nope, taken)
    "Three's Company" (nope, taken)
"Let's make a deal" (nope, taken)
"Sometimes they come back" (nope, taken)
    "Smallville" (nope, taken)
"Six inches under" (nope, too similar to another)
    "Crank Yankers" (nope, taken)
    "Free Willie" (nope, taken)

I guess that leaves these two:

    "Sex, Lies, and Little Guys"
    "Package Deal"

I think the lawyer in Zimbabwe knows everyone on PE group. I've used the
above e-mail address only for posting here and the lawyer has already sent
me a message twice. But my Hotmail address is full of spam.

Thank you Grant for enabling us the Challenge :-)
