    1) Make your CF code efficient.

    2) Do all calculations before writing a single byte of the page out. (Seperate
    business logic from display.)

    3) Set <CFSETTING EnableCFOutputOnly = "yes"> at the top of your
    Application.cf? file and make ALL output appear in <CFOUTPUT> tags. (Must do
    step 2 first)

    4) Index your database properly.

    5) Create views and stored procedures for the heavy hitting data pulls (and
    sets).

    6) If all else fails, increase your timeout. ;-)

    I agree with the previous post. I was going to ask you what your timeout value
    is set to in the ColdFusion administrator. If it's rediculously low (like a
    minute or two) then I'd up it. I've got mine set to 10 minutes... which may be
    too long, but that's a debate for another time. :)
