The way acrobat files appear in various readers
I get files from a graphic designer who creates them in Quark Express for offset reproductions. I am making them available to visitors to the site I manage for viewing and downloading.
Many of the headlines appear incorrectly in some viewers with overlapping or offset text, but not others. I have had trouble identifying any conistent pattern in which browsers they work in which tey don't and the graphic artist has no idea why this is happening. It seems to be an issue on various platforms.
Can anyone help me figure this out?

Re: The way acrobat files appear in various readers
It's usually not the browser that's the problem but the version of Acrobat or Reader.
It you're hosting the web site, you should put up a strong note: FREE Acrobat 7 Reader strongly recommended! And give them a link to the Adobe Reader download page. I believe there are instructions and even a logo which you can find on the Reader download page.
These problem can happen when some people have OLD versions of Reader (even as far back as Reader 3!)
Also, make sure that the FONTS ARE EMBEDDED when the PDF is created. Otherwise, they will be substituted.
