Having problems embedding METATAGS etc into my website

Do you do this in Photoshop or Imageready? I tried in Photoshop under FILE - FILE INFO and created the .XMP file. What do I do with this?
I uploaded this to the server but still NO METATAGS.
Photoshop "Help" does not help anyone on this issue.
Any suggestions or links to a "walk thru talk thru" on how to do this would be much appreciated.
