THOSE OTF FONTS: TURNING 'EM OFF
OS 10.2.8 / dual 1-gHz / Illustrator CS:
I normally use Suitcase (X1) to manage my fonts. I remove all extraneous fonts and keep them in a central location and turn them on and off as nec. Illustrator CS installs that slew of OTF fonts in boot drive/library/application support/adobe/fonts and they clog my illustrator font menu.
I banished them to my central font library, but it seem Illustrator wants them open all the time and won't be cooperative without them. I was unable to successfully create PDFs out of Illustrator until I reloaded these fonts back where they were originally.
Okay, how do I manage these fonts so they aren't active all the time, AND still retain usability? And sanity?
