Thoth's stability - Mac Networking

A lot of us have had difficulties with Thoth. Doing binary extractions, especially, it crashes and hangs often. The author's response is to tell us to disable the parts cache,,, but that makes no diff. I seem to have stumbled on something that's greatly improving Thoth's stability (and performance!). My goal was to eliminate ancillary tasks that might be slowing Thoth down, so I can see how it performs over Comcrap's "improved" 3 Mbps service. Preferences / Extracting Binaries... Preferences / Extracting Binaries...
    Uncheck "Decode extracted binary attachments"

The above means that you end up with a bunch of temp files that have to
be manually dropped onto a decoder, such as Rosetta... But voila -
Thoth has been 100% stable for me since making that pref change!

Please try it. Lemme know if it works for you'all...

    I've never had any problem.

I hate to sound like a "me too" but none of these problem have ever
happened to me on the multiple Macs I use and in OSX 10.1, 10.2 or
10.3. One of the main reasons I use and paid for Thoth was because of
    it's stability.

Not bad. I found Thoth much too unstable to use with Comcast,
but I had it set to decoding. Anyway, I've since moved on to
Unison, which doesn't require the same treatment as Thoth:
continual hand-holding of some self-absorbed cry-baby who dropped
support for it, despite thousands of users who swore by it up
    to the bitter end.

I did have some problems with Thoth while FileVault was active for the
directories in which I was decoding/extracting.

Once I made sure I wasn't extracting into directories that FileVault
was covering, things were much better.
