Thumbnails are linking to bigger pictures but... :-( - Macromedia Dreamweaver

On my web page http://www.frenchberliner.com/BERLIN%20PAGE/The%20new%20Berlin%20page.htm I use thumbnails to open the pictures in a new window! I really don't find practical the fact that you must close each window before you wanna see a new picture...I set all the windows to the exact size of each picture but now I would like to know if there's a way to open one single window wich will adapt its size all the images! Thanx :-)...

I use thumbnails to open the pictures in a new window! I really don't
find practical the fact that you must close each window before you wanna
see a new picture...I set all the windows to the exact size of each
picture but now I would like to know if there's a way to open one single
window wich will adapt its size all the images!

1) Normally, it's the user's browser preferences that decides whether to
re-use a pop-up window or to create a new. But I think there's a
javascript that can help you control that from the parent window.
Unfortunately, I haven't a clue about javascript, and until someone more
knowledgeable jumps in, I can only point you to e.g. www.hotscripts.com
for a look.

2) It's actually impossible to make a window fit an image exactly and
make it work in all browsers and on all platforms. The "Open Picture
Window Fever! " (http://www.dreamweaverfever.com/grow/) extension will
get you close to it, but I don't think it'll take you all the way. It'll
still show some background of the page in some browsers. Another way
might be to manually place the image as background image on a page, but
that, too, will be cut off in some browsers....

3) If you're on Mac, I strongly suggest you'll take a look at a photo
album creator called WebPics (shareware). It's one of the absolute best
solutions I've seen, with several options to change the look of the
album. If you like, you can also add your own stylesheet to generate an
even more customized design. The app is found at e.g. www.versiontracker.com
