I downloaded and installed Thunderbird 1.5 and Firefox 1.5 using
automatix in Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy). When I click on a link in a

Which sort of links do you mean? http, ftp, newsgroup-postings?

I mean http links within a message.

There are several possibilities. I would use the configuration for
Thunderbird. In The preferences you can go to the last point (don't know
the english name) and there use the button edit configuration. You have
    to insert the following entries:

    network.protocol-handler.app.http
    network.protocol-handler.app.https

For the values you user the executable of your browser.

    I changed:
    network.protocol-handler.app.http default string x-www-browser
    network.protocol-handler.app.https default string x-www-browser
    to:
    network.protocol-handler.app.http default string firefox
    network.protocol-handler.app.https default string firefox
    and it now works. Thanks!
