why is it everytime i go to ubuntu and the log on to windows that my clock
seems to be missing an hour all the time, this has been the case since
BST?!?!?!?!?!?!

So open the file /etc/default/rcS and change the line UTC=yes to UTC=no.
This might solve your problem.
