Default Timeline - External JS file and CSS file

I am working on a project that is going to take advantage of the dreamweaver
timeline. But I hate all of the messy code it places in the HTML so I would
like to place the script in a seperate JS file. I also use a seperate CSS
stylesheet. SO what I was stumped on was if I could cut the javascript for the
timeline animate from the header, place it in a seperate JS file and STILL be
able to have the animation affect the CSS stylesheet.

    Does that make sense?

    Can you help me?

    Thanks

The timeline markup cannot be externalized.

And the animation doesn't affect the stylesheet at all.
