Timing Out during CFMail transaction - Macromedia ColdFusion

I'm using a hosted server and manage the database for my kid's high school. Sometimes when I send out email announcements, the server times out. Each email is sent individually inside a loop. What's the smartest way to monitor the progress of the transaction? Should I writeout a transaction log for each email sent in order to track where to start up again? Or, is there a transaction method in CF that would guarantee that either all the emails are sent or none? I'd rather have it fail and retry rather than a partial completion....

Default Re: Timing Out during CFMail transaction

If you turn on the mail spooling (SpoolEnable="Yes", which is the default)
and make sure that mail spooling is turned on in the administrator, you can
spool thousands of messages very quickly.

They will then get delivered in the background.
