POSIX Programmers Guide - Donald Lewine
POSIX.4 Programming for the Real World - Bill Gallmeister
Neither of these books are new; but both have been helpful to me.
You should be able to get more info about them from the O'Reilly
website at http://www.ora.com

changed since then. Besides, 50% of the book is in manual-page form, which
you can get in a much updated form from the Open Group site that another
reply has provided a link to.
The POSIX.4 book, to my knowledge, is the ONLY book on that part of POSIX
(real-time). Very useful if you will be using the real-time options.
Best reference is the Open Group site. It's really extremely well done.
(In addition to POSIX, a larger standard called Single UNIX Specification
is getting more industry attention these days. That's what vendors have to
conform to to be able to use the UNIX brand. The SUS, which contains POSIX,
is what's on the Open Group site.)
