Toggle between Selection Tools
I remember a long time ago I used to be able to toggle between the selection tool and the direct selection tool by command/tabbing. Now that just toggles between programs. (Illustrator 8 / OS9.2)
Can this still be done?

Re: Toggle between Selection Tools
No Prob.
Quick Tip: I just learned holding Option with the direct select tool (white arrow) will grab the entire object instead of just the anchor point. Extremely useful. Double clicking while holding option will get the group. It will also cycle through selecting embedded groups if what I'm seeing is correct.

Re: Toggle between Selection Tools
Holding down option, if you click twice (or more-depending on the # of compound paths and groups) you'll get the whole group.

Re: Toggle between Selection Tools
Yeah sorry. I went back and edited my post to exactly what you just said. Funny thing is that I just learned that about double-clicking as I was verifying what I said first was true. Weird.
