Too big spacing - Adobe Indesign Windows

I have just started using InDesign and defined a paragraph formatting and set the justification to full justify. But even with short words the there is a very big spacing between each word. What am I doing wrong?...

    You are using full justify.

Try Justified with last line aligned left. Maybe that's what you're looking for.

Yes, I would like to choose that, but I don't see this option anywhere when I define my paragraph formatting. Where is it?

There are six options (two rows and three columns) that I can see. The one you seek is at the bottom left.

Are you talking about "Paragraph style options" or...?

Now I understand what you mean by two rows and three columns.
But I was looking for a possibility to define the alignment of my paragraph formatting so that I do not have to edit all paragraphs that have this problem

It's on the indents and spacing panel. There's a pop-up. Choose left justify (or something like that).

    Yes, you are.

You're thinking left ragged. Left justify will give you what you want.

Look there are only seven possibilities on that pop-up. Why not just try them instead of arguing with us?

It's in the Paragraph formatting controls and you need Justify with last line aligned left. Once you have what you want create a new style out of it so you can use it repeatedly.

    How many options are there?

Could it be that you're using an older version of the software and haven't mentioned that?
