Tool pallett missing

Running Illy 10.0.3 on a G4 running OS 10.2.8.

Each time I start Illy up for the first time for the day, my tool pallett is missing. After I load the tool pallett it stays open, untill I quit Illy and start again.

Any ideas why or how to correct it?

Are you launching Illustrator from an Alias or the Applications folder.

Thanks for the tech doc link. My Illy app. file is in the Illy app. folder. It also doesn't matter if I open Illy from the root app. file or the alias on the dock, still no tools pallett?

Any other ideas?

Throw away all AI preferences. Restart.

Or check if the file is locked.

No, I do rememeber a bug that doesn't desplay the tools pallet, but I can'r remember what version AI.

Sorry. It doesn't have to do with AI10.03 or 9.2.2 so probably OSX.

Hi Jay,

I, too, have this problem. It is shared by a number of people running Illustrator 10 on the Mac platform.

Deleting your Illustrator 10 preferences will fix the problem for a while, but it tends to come back. I never figured out what triggered the problem.

The problem no longer occurs for me with Illustrator CS.

Put me on the list also... trashing the preferences all the time to fix stuff is getting absurd.

Sounds like the most practical soloution is to simply view the tools pallette when you start up Illy each day! The other options end up being just a waste of time.

I'm having the exact same (annoying) problem with the tool pallet. Reinstalling didn't help. Trashing preferences worked once but the problem returned on the next launch. Panther seems to be the problem - I'm having other Illustrator issues besides this since upgrading. Does anyone have any other ideas?
