Tracing (web)cam movement

Hello,

I am working on a project for school. Our plan is to build a (web)cam game
for the pc. Kindof like iToy for the playstation. I am wondering if it is
possible for director to track motion from a live streaming video feed (with
for example a bluescreen/chromakey)? Can anybody get me started with tip,
tricks, links, scripts, plug-ins, software, etc.??
