Transforming locked objects
When I apply "find and replace" " rotate" effect to a selection of large
number of objects, locked objects are also getting rotated. I do not want
to rotate them. Is there any way to remove locked objects from a selection?
Or tell me a way to keep locked objects remain unchanged after applying
various effects of find and replace graphics command.

Re: Transforming locked objects
Select the unlocked objects, move them to a new layer temporarily. Apply
rotation or other find and replace comand. Move back to correct layer. The
locked objects should be ok.

Re: Transforming locked objects
You might want to check your Preferences. Under the Object label, look to see if "Edit Locked Objects" is checked. I think you'll want it UNchecked.

Re: Transforming locked objects
Dear Jennifer/Martin Gamache
Thanks for your reply on My query. Your suggestion to move locked objects to a new layer is looking fine. But I could not locate any command in Freehand to select/remove large number of locked objects from a selection. Selecting locked objects individually is not possible because I am working with 100s of objects.
Even if I make locked objects non editable using preference panel, find and replace transform commands are acting on the locked objects.
Thanks
Rajan

Re: Transforming locked objects
Rajan,
Maybe I was not clear enough. The objects you do not want rotated should be
on locked, invisible layer. Here is how With all you objects selected (both
locked and unlocked) You can move all the unlocked selected objects to a new
layer. The locked objects will not change layers, now lock and make their
layer invisible. Apply tranform to the unlocked objects on the new layer.
