Re: transparency effect???
just convert the image to a symbol F8 (graphic), then select the graphic, in
the properties panel select alpha from the dropdown..then put it on a higher
layer than the one you want to show through

Re: transparency effect???
what you can do is create the image you want transparent, in photoshop, or fireworks. Create it with all the transparent elements, and save it as a .png and import it into flash

Re: transparency effect???
Thanks for answer my problem..but I only can do the transparency effect from firework import png file.
I don't understand how to make it in flash because when I convert the image to symbol but in the symbol panel.. Where can I find the alpha? and to put it on a higher layer than the one you want to show through? Can you give me a example how a image can see through the background image?

Re: transparency effect???
the alpha property is assigned per graphic, button, etc
if you have no means to give it a transparent background other than flash;
your other option in flash--which sux--is to break apart the graphic until it wont break down anymore
then using the various selection tools and select the areas you dont want and delete them
unless u just want the WHOLE graphic to be transparent, the property window is docked by default at the bottom of flash, otherwise u can access it via: Window|Properties, or by pressing ctrl+F3
transparency can b found in the far right drop-down in "Color:" in the property window
also make sure that u have selected the graphic and you have also converted it into a symbol
hope that helps

Re: transparency effect???
Siew
To make a symbol transparent:
Convert your graphic to a symbol
In the properties inspector, find the color drop down menu
Click the menu and select 'Alpha'
Move the percentage slider to change the transperancy
To make it appear on top of another symbol there are a few options:
OPTION 1
In your time line, look at your layers.
If a layer is on top of another layer, the symbols in the top layer will appear on top of symbols in a lower layer.
In your situation, create a layer and name it 'layer 1'.
Put your transparent symbol (the symbol you want to appear ontop) in a frame in layer 1.
Create another layer and name it 'layer 2'.
Drag the layer downwards to it is below layer 1.
Put the symbol(s) you want to appear underneather in a frame in layer 2.
The transparent symbol should appear on top of your other symbol
OPTION 2
If you want both symbols to appear on the same layer, select the symbol you want to appear ontop.
Use the menu bar now:
Modify | Arrange | Bring to Front
The symbol you selected should now appear on top of all others. You can also bring them forward or back one symbol at a time.
If you're still stuck, I can explain in even more detail
Good luck
