Why do you have to select the endpoints? If you simply select the two paths
and Join, won't this work? It also works if you shift-option-select the end
segments of the paths you want to join.

On a related note, I've noticed that the FHMX knife tool is making much
cleaner cuts than previous versions. In FH9 and previous, when you cut a
closed path, FH would move one of the points slightly and add a curve handle
that created a little 'hook' to try to match the previous path.

I'm very happy to see points stay where they should. Thanks, Macromedia.

Go to your general preferences and turn off "Dragging a guide scrolls the
    window." Does that help?
