Transparency not working

Alright. I checked the transparency button but its coming out grey? Anybody know what to do?

ooh, sorry about that Stevie. Well, let me clarify. When I'm saving my vector as a png, I have the transparency button clicked, but when it's saved and all, it has this grey background. Do you have any idea why?

If you are saving as a 24-bit PNG ( 8-bit transparency) IE doesn't support
the format natively. You have to add some HTML code to invoke the
Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader before you will see the transparency.

I using Illustrator 10. I have a logo with a transparent background and I'm trying to export it to a .tiff file. When I place it in my brochure, the background isn't transparent. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Since Tiff doesn't support transparency, of course not.

Depends on the layout software you're placing the graphic into. Why aren't
you using EPS?

Actually TIFF DOES support layers and therefore transparency. Unfortunately
few applications support layered TIFFs including Illustrator, although
Photoshop CS does.

TIFF also supports clipping paths (again Illustrator does not support
clipped TIFFs).

first off you should be saving your files as .EPS if you are working in Illustrator, especially if you are working iwth transparency. Alos in order to for the transparency to print correctly you are going to have to "flatten transparency" under the objectg menu. The quality of the settings will be up to you.
