Hello,

Haven't been around for a while, though I worked with Director-movies for
many years. It's so easy to forget, but hopefully also easy to get grip of
old knowledges as well.

Anyhow, suddenly I had to produce a movie and as it will be a Shockwave for
the web in the end I would like to use Flash-graphics instead of bitmaps
when possible. I don't work in Flash, but Adobe Illustrator offers the
export option to "convert" a bitmap to a swf-file.

I started off to create some animation in Director with a couple of
Flash-objects (just as a couple of still images, then animate them in
Director). My original BMP was openened in Illustartor and exported to
swf-format and the imported to the cast. However, even if I know that
"Background transp" is a supported ink with Flash-members as sprites on
stage it doesn't work.

It drives me a little bit crazy as I didn't expect any problem with this,
but all sprites in stage appear solid with non-transparency of the
backgruond 255 white colour. As I remebered I used to put out flash-sprites
with transparency without problem. Am I overlooking anything obvious here?
More that greatful for some answer that enlightens me.
