Transparent Type
I have a box with a black key line around it. The box has the top half filled with black and the bottomhalf filled with white. In the black, there is some white type.
This is going to be made into a sticker and stuck onto a wood effect background. The white fill and type will be transparent so that they wood effect shows through the sticker.
With the white fill, I have changed so that there is no fill, making this transparent. I cannot seem to get the white type on the black background transparent.
Any ideas would greatly help.
I am using Illustrator 10 on the Mac

Re: Transparent Type
My suggestion would be to outline the text and make the text compound shapes with the background. This will make the text hollow/transparent. Any good?

Re: Transparent Type
Is the wood effect part of the ai file or part of the surface upon which it's going to be printed? If the latter, white=paper so you ought not need to make it transparent in the ai file.
