Trap Knocks Out
Hi all.
On AI CS for PC, I create a trap using the trap command on artwork with two pms colors. Everything looks great on the screen. The top color in the trap is set to overprint. Overprint preview shows it as overprinting. However, when I print it on our proofing printer (using Adobe's RIP), the trap knocks out the background vs. overprinting. We have confirmed this on two different computers using two different pieces of artwork. Our printing company has also managed to confirm it (as we have a job that now must be redone at our expense).
HELP!

Re: Trap Knocks Out
Actually, I figured that I had to build the trap thinking that for some reason the use of the trap command was causing the problem. However, I am finding that overprint is just not working period. ????

Re: Trap Knocks Out
And finally, I tried just printing this to a postscript laser printer, and the same problem is evident. I am very confused.

There is a certain charm, however, to the punctuated delivery of the storyline.

Re: Trap Knocks Out
And this information helps me solve our problem how?
By the way, my experience is that, while you can edit the original post, it has already been distributed to e-mail subscribers as initally written. It is not redistributed with the changes.
