Re: Trial/Developer Edition Won't Install
This is complete bulls&$%. I've been using CF since v1.5 and I've never
seen anything so laughable. I've downloaded this file at least 6 times using 3
different browsers (IE 6, Firefox 1 and Netscape 7.2) and I have the same
problem with all of them. I'm on a very fast connection. This problem
apparently has been going on for years. For craps sake, get a decent installer
because this one sucks.

flawless for me (and a whole lot of other people)--I've done installs on
about seven machines at this point (using several different downloads,
two from today as a matter of fact) with no troubles whatsoever on
Windows XP SP 2, Windows Server 2003, and Mac OS X. As for "going on
for years," I'm not sure how to address that; I never had a single
problem with the installer for CF 5, 6, or 6.1 either.
You were seeing the exact same error that some other folks saw and some
people got it resolved through another download, so I thought I'd at
least mention that fact. Without knowing more about your particular
setup, etc. it's a bit difficult to diagnose.

Re: Trial/Developer Edition Won't Install
Sorry for flying off the handle but this has been extremely frustrating. I DO
appreciate your suggestion and apologize for shooting the messenger. After
reading your suggestion, I did a little Google research and found someone that
had similar problem and they were running McAfee antivirus. So I disabled the
On-Access Scan feature and re-downloaded and then tried to run the install and
it worked fine. So apparently there is an issue between a self-installer made
from InstallAnywhere and McAfee, but who knows which is to blame. I haven't
had a problem with any anti-virus product causing a file download issue in
years. I seriously doubt that I'm the only one who has run into this as I find
a whole lot of hits on Google searching for a solution. Oh well, thanks again.

problem was. I'm sure you're not the only one who's run into this, so
every piece of information like this helps!
