trimming arcs/ellipses

I have some arc and ellipse geometrys that I need to trim but can not figure
out how. The ellipse I had to draw way out from the end point to get my
geometry right (creating an existing company logo) and it intersects with
another elipse. I need to triim the two ellipses so I can join and fill them
but I can not figure out how. My logo is created using arcs, lines and ellipses
and so far everything is great except this one area. Any suggestions on how to
accomplish this feat? Thanks in advance

Tony,
I'm not sure what you mean by 'trimming' the elipses, but if you need to
edit the eliptical paths beyond changing the size and proportions, try
un-grouping the elipse. You can then add, remove or otherwise edit points
on the path.

The knife tool and/or Modify > Combine options would do the trick.

If you simply need to join them, select both of them and use the Join
Xtra.
