Trouble exporting .gif with inline text effect
I am working with text using the inline effect. The text block is the correct
size to enclose the plain text, but the "borders" created by the inline effect
extend beyond the text block. When I export a .gif image, the resulting image
has the "border" edges clipped off where they extended beyond the text block.
I have attempted to resize the text block, but doing so messes up my
carefully-crafted spacing between characters. How can I export the entire
image I see in FreeHand?

Re: Trouble exporting .gif with inline text effect
Text effects are Postscript effects, so work reliably only with Postscript
output.
The 'iffy' solution (not recommended) :
Select text block and set text block outset so that the outset area
surrounds the text inline effect. This works for GIF export, but the outline
will still be lost if you 'Convert to Image' in FHMX.
The better solution:
1. Clone text. Convert to paths. Join.
2. Xtras > Path Operations > Inset Path. Enter a negative number to outset.
3. Give the resulting path a stroke, no fill.
