Trouble printing to Imagesetter from any CS2 product
I hope someone can help?
I have a Power PC G4 with OS 10.4.7 and have trouble printing to a Viper 1.5.1 RIP with AGFASET 3.1.1. The imagesetter is a AGFA Avantra 25, the RIP is Level2.
I get a postscript error invalid access offending command:PUT;error info:thresholds___nostringval___]%%.
This error occurs from any CS2 product and even if I try printing to the HOT folder ie print to disk
I have no trouble printing from Freehand or Pagemaker.
Any help would be appreciated
George

CS2 apps are PS level 3...try export or save as EPS level 2 (of course certain applied effects may still generate the error) also try PDF

Well, they know about PostScript 3, but they are not supposed to require it. The specs say that PostScript Level 2 is what's required. And, the Viper is an Adobe Level 2 RIP.
However, I think that Viper 1.5.1 is a very old Level 2 version - 2013, IIRC. I remember a few reports here of problems like this with version 2013. I'm not sure if there's a solution.
Are you using the correct PPD for the device?
