Default Trouble with fonts in Acrobat 7.0

When I create a new pdf from any of my applications (Quark, FreeHand, InDesign) using OSX, a few of the fonts never actually embed. This only happens with our corporate set of fonts (Gareth and Futura). However, even when I check to make certain that the fonts are "embedded" when I save the file, the end user never views the final file the way I have designed it. This has happened with earlier versions of Acrobat as well. Most of my end users are viewing with Acrobat Reader version 4 and higher. The other problem I have is that on occasion some of the linked graphics will be missing key components as well in the final Reader version.

Are you actually making the PDFs via Distiller - the applications
    themselves of via OSX (Quartz)?

I am actually creating them using the built in "save as pdf" in all of the programs. So I'm not exactly sure what the answer is... whether OSX is using Quartz or Distiller to create the files.

OK - you are making the PDF directly through OSX Quartz - not Adobe
    Acrobat Distiller.

Hi Jon. Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that using Quark and it seems to have worked on at least one users Reader. I will continue to test that using my other authoring programs and make sure that is the answer!

Thanks for helping me with this extremely frustrating problem!
