Trouble with Multiple Master Font Printing
Just converted from PM7.0 to InDesign CS. I use Tekton Multiple Master fonts a lot, and they worked fine with PM7.0.
However, using InDesign CS, when printing to my HP4000 and HP4200, the printer substitutes a font in all instances.
Have Win 2000 and use PS drivers for the HP4000 and HP4200 (same ones I used for PM7.0).
Fonts print out fine to PDF file and all my other programs still output Tekton MM fonts okay to these 2 printers.
Is there a version of Tekton MM that embeds in the InDesign CS file. I think that may be what is missing, the embedding.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom

With "Download: complete" selected, I tried it both ways, Download checked and unchecked, to no avail.

Are you using ATM lite or ATM Deluxe 4.1?

Re: Trouble with Multiple Master Font Printing
Windows 2000 and ATM lite. Shouldn't make a diff should it? I understand W2000 performs same functions as ATM Lite.
Also, I tried calling Adobe for a FREE troubleshoot for new software and was told they would help with installation only (Since February dropped) unless I gave them a credit card. Bah. If I would have known that was their support attitude, I wqould have onsidered using Quark vs InDesign.
Any ideas on this MM font problem?

Re: Trouble with Multiple Master Font Printing
It does matter if you're using MM. Windows doesn't know what to do with
those so you do need ATM. You are using version 4.1, right?
As for support. I think you'd be a lot more disappointed if you went
with Quark.

I like Adobe. Just don't like paying for first-time support for an expensive new product. I could understand if it were $29.95 piece of software, but I guess that's the trend.
ATM version I have is 4.0.

Re: Trouble with Multiple Master Font Printing
ATM 4.0 is poison on Win 2K or XP. There's a 4.1.2 download that's actually a registry fix to correct any damage done by 4.0.
Was your Win 2K install done as a clean install or an update from an
earlier operating system?

Re: Trouble with Multiple Master Font Printing
Version downloaded is 4.1 build 243. I'll look for update.
Windows 2000 came on the new Dell machine 2 or 3 years ago, so it was a clean install (actually I did a new clean install in January of this year).
I have parameters of Indesign file if you're interested.
Thanks,
Tom

Re: Trouble with Multiple Master Font Printing
For what it is worth, I am not liking HP printers. Our 8150DN and I believe the 4000 and 5000 series are not true postscript devices. They are postscript emulators. I have had little joy with it. Howver, I think it would work with ID if it worked with PM. Do you have the latest printer drivers installed?
Good luck,
Michael
