Trouble with packaged fonts
I am working with another designer who is running CS2 on Panther. I am
running CS2 on Jaguar. Here's my problem. I cannot use the fonts that
she sends with packaged Indesign files. The package contains the folder
titled "project x" which includes the indesign document, the images,
and separate folders for each font. Each font folder contains the
flavors of that font, but each one has a blank page logo and contains
zero kb. The package also includes thre nested folders:
_MACOSX/project x/font a,b,c etc. These font folders are empty. Is my
problem one of incompatablity with operating systems? Or perhaps
Fontbook (she's using it; I don't have it)?

The _MACOSX folder and the zero KB font size are a sure indicator that
these fonts are being passed over into Windows at some point. The
_MACOSX folder contains all the invisible files that OSX routine uses,
and they don't become visible until they're exposed to a Windows
environment. The same goes for the fonts - copy a Mac only font to
Windows and the font goes to zero K. If the disc they're burning the
files on is only Windows formatted and not Win/Mac hybrid, that would
do it as well.
