Default trouble with select images not staying on top in Arrange

    Hi,

I have a document with a text document wrapping through several pages and I am placing images on top of it. The word document is sent to the very back while the images to the front. For some reason, I find a few images cannot be picked without picking the underlying word document. If I select all of the images, and hold shift to remove the word document, and then go to move the image, it looses its highlight and the word document moves! I can’t move it unless I move the word document out of the way, move the image, and move the word document back to its original position. Other images I have placed don’t have this problem at all.

    Any ideas most appreciated!!

Have you inspected the Layers palette to see if the graphics are on a different layer? You could put the graphics in a layer named graphics, and the text in a layer named text. Then, lock down a layer and target and work on the other layer. No conflicts. Layers makes life easy.
