Troubles in FMS can someone please help...
I'm hoping someone can help for I am about to give up. I am really surprised
that macromedia doesn't offer more assistance. If I can't get the Developer
edition to work, what makes macromedia think that I would have any interest in
buying FMS?
I was able to get FMS installed on linux with no problems and started the
adminserver and server fms. I go into fms2_console.htm and I can ping the
server. I add a third party application, restart the server but the application
does not work. I check fms2_console.htm and noticed that I had a spike to 100%
in memory usage and cpu. I go into vhost.xml and alter the <allow> line and add
xxxxx.com with "x's" being my domain. Restart the server again and the app
still doesn't work. I go and add the "sample_videoconference" from macromedia.
I can't get that to work either. Now I noticed in the logs the following:
Sun 02:55:59 PM: Core (19233) connection to admin accepted.
Sun 02:55:59 PM: Failed to create thread (TCAsyncIO::init).
Sun 02:55:59 PM: Failed to create thread (TCServerConnector::startConnector).
Sun 02:55:59 PM: Assert failed in /server/TCXMLConnector.cpp line 90
Sun 02:55:59 PM: Server aborted.
When I go and do ./fmsmgr list I get the following:
Macromedia Flash Media Server running services:
Processes for service "fms" in directory: /home/buicklan/opt/macromedia/fms
PID TTY TIME CMD
4834 pts/0 00:00:00 fmsmaster
PID TTY TIME CMD
23458 pts/0 00:00:00 fmsadmin
What else is there that I can do to figure out what is wrong? Why does FMS
have some kind of test feature?
The operating system is - redhat-as3 / 20050805
Applications Installed redhat-devel-as3 / 20050805

Just so I understand...
FMS works properly until you install another application, at which time FMS stops functioning? What is the other application that causes the problem?

Re: Troubles in FMS can someone please help...
Well when I had the <allow> tag to set to "all" I didn't see that error in the
error log. So I am not sure if the error is coming from adding the domain to
the <allow> tag or if the error is coming something else. The reason I changed
the allow tag was because I thought I someone else was tapping in. I really
cant see that the error is being caused by the macromedia app that I added. The
third party apps that I have been trying to get to work are from here

So far I have not been able to get any apps to work including the sample from
macromedia. Maybe someone can tell me, with the allow tag, is best to use the
ip address, localhost, or xxxxxx.com in the tag? Macromedia says that leaving
it blank will only allow the domain which the server is on to access it. I have
tried that but I'm still not having any sucess in getting any of the apps to
work.

I don't know if this helps, or if you've given up by now, but in another forum
I saw those same error messages you posted, and the resolution to it was
upgrading to to a 2.6 kernel. Hope you got it working.
