Trying to beat the Preference File Blues.
Hello one and all. :)
I am trying to teach myself Adobe Illustrator 9.0. Yes, I may be slow and behnid the times but at least I can learn the basics. To help me do this, I purchased Adobe Illustrator 9.0 Classroom in a Book. I'm having a problem with page 3, "Restoring Default Preferences." It wants me to delete or rename the "AIPrefs" file. The FAQ topic, "Deleting Illustrator Preference File" said to do the following:
"To locate the file from Windows Explorer it is necessary to set Explorer options to "View Hidden Files and Folder." My only question is, how do you do this? How do I set Explorer options to "View Hidden Files and Folder"?
Thanks! :)

Re: Trying to beat the Preference File Blues.
The easiest way to delete and make a new AIPrefs file (don't even have to SHOW HIDDEN FILES) is to close Illustrator, then click on the Illustrator launching icon and IMMEDIATELY click and hold down CONTROL SHIFT ALT keys until you get the message asking if you want to delete all settings. Say YES and Illustrator will open with a brand new AIPrefs with original defaults set.
