Default Tv snow effect

Hi there!

I'm making a web page where the whole page is a tv. I need one or two of the channels to be blank and just display this "tv snow effect", but can't figure out how...

If you are wondering about what I mean (i'm not very good at English, and i don't know exactly what it's called) i've found a page that has this effect. So go visit: http://www.eyetoy.com/english/index.html if you're in doubt.

Hoping for some help,
bye

hi,

i can't see any tv noise on the url you refer to, but if you need snow, i'd go with 2 or 3 black & white bitmaps (try creating them using spiked noise filter in photoshop or the like) and just put them on subsequent frames in a movieclip, without fading or anything so they follow one another really fast
that should do i think

I think stylelabs has it right, then add a white stripe with alpha that
drifts down and it will look pretty real.
(turn tv on and go to ch 9)

Here's how I would do it:

Create 3 or 4 different black & ahite screens of "TV Snow' in PhotoShop
using the "Add Noise" filter. Export them as .jpgs (can be low rez) and
import them into Flash. Use each screen as a different frame in a looping
movie clip. So frame 1 of your movie clip is is "screen1.jpg", frame 2 is
"screen2.jpg", etc.

Then on top of that I would add a horizontal white bar that slowly scrolls
down...put it's alpha at about 50%.

To complete the illusion, add some static sounds!
