    Default Twenty-first Challenge

Doreen is of to Nova Scotia to visit her sister and as I am going to use the
challenge to remind me of this part of the world. The images for the 21st
challenge are now up. I have used one of Doreen's images she has taken on
one of her trips to visit her sister. This is a photograph of the light
house at Peggy's Cove an area that is one of the most photographed in Nova
Scotia. Doreen's sister lives just a few mile from here outside of
Lunenburg the birth place of the Bluenose. From the front porch of Marni's
home you can watch the Bluenose II furl and unfurl her sails twice a day.
    Please enjoy the challenge.

the Present will be Past and new images will be posted.

    * Important notice to all the new people in this forum. This is not a
close shop you are all invited to submit an image. If you don't think you
are good enough this is your first mistake, I think most have found that
working on the Challenge has improved their personal level. So young and
old, hot shots and cool dudes now is you time to post.

    Grant,

That is an excellent photo of Peggy's Point Lighthouse! (Made all the more
remarkable because Doreen managed to evade all the tourists.)

Marilyn Lee - your second image (the long-haired woman) is haunting me - who is she, where does she come from?

I also really like Robert Jones' version with gulls. Love the light effects

My first try at an animated GIF - as it was put together after the best part of a bottle of red over dinner, I don't think it looks too bad...the posterised effect occurred as I tried to reduce the size of the image and I decided it looked OK (if a little out of focus - the red wine I think...!)........it was such an obvious thing to do I was hoping no-one else got in there first!

Susan S - The lady with the long hair is my grandmother, Ida Josephine--my Dad's mom. Unfortunately, she passed away when my Dad was only 12. She was a very tall lady, and her hair reached the floor. She was born into an affluent family, but my grandfather became an alcoholic; they lost everything, life became very harsh, and I think she just lost her spirit to live. I thought she matched the lighthouse--tall and straight, and a little bit sad. I wish I could have known her.

Your animated lighthouse was delightful and surprising (I didn't realize it had action because it loaded so fast). And coming last of all the images made it an especially neat ending to the Challenge "show."

And, yes, I also thought Robert Jones' gull picture was extremely well done. If they have a museum at the lighthouse, they should print out the picture and hang it there.

Chris, I knew you would like that one. Yours are great as usual...goes without saying..ha ha. No, I really have been busy and haven't had much time for these. as you can see...not much for xtra graphics this weekend. These ones are really just quickies. I'd be kind of embarrassed to tell you how much time I've spent on them. A few clicks. I got my computer office room looking good though. Got a new desk and organized everything. Found some old tutorials to laugh about...' How to make a layer '...good 'ol days. Have company coming so that's the only time i straighten things out around here. Haven't had company in a while so I've been real busy ;) Got my daughter's room done and that was quite a chore...bathroom shower doors etc... Anyways, all done now and company from TEXAS due anytime. Just sent Grant # 11 and it may be the last from me....we'll see. # 11 is kind of an old romantic movie theme. When lovers meet in special places. Always fun.

Barb Wayne: I really like your nighttime lighthouse rendition (#2)! The bluish cast looks very realistic.

Jodi #6 and Ray #1 - two very warm images that speak to me of safety and comfort rather than isolation.

And of course they're ALL great!

    Chris,

This forum is a melting pot of culture, ideas, people, amateurs and profesional, experienced and newcommers :)

When I first joined here, 4 or 5 months ago, I was shocked, sort of. I mean, I came from newsgroups where people were name calling on a daily basis, where mentionning 'I own a Mac' would start a flaming thread, that sort of things.

Here ? Never I've seen this. It's a good place, people are nice and very patient.

Glad you like it, we already have something else in common, besides Elements... this forum :)

For every time I post a new up-date I regenerate the whole website and up
load the lot. I do not have time to check it all out but I do appreciate
when you find an error posting them here. What would be faster, as I read
my email more frequently than I read the forum, is to also send them to me.
