Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
I'm trying out a Document in Acrobat 9. I found two apparent bugs.
On my PowerBook 17" I have installed correct Driver for my Printer a HP DJ 990cse. However when I go to set as default printer inside Page Setup within Acrobat 9 the is no indication of a printer. Yet when I go elsewhere such PDF Optimizer> advanced it shows the printer. Note I use printer Plugged into my Airport Express. Acrobat 8 has no problem with this setup.
Problem two: In the document I noticed a defect in one line with the letter "g" and attempted to use touch up text to retype it to see if I could repair the defect. well when I did the text drop a point or so below the line and completely messed up anything in the box.
My PowerBook 17 uses a display of 1400x900
IN suggestions?

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
Phil,
There's a new option under Preferences / Touchup / text wrap engine /
Try turning this ON and giving it another go ...

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
That is the way it is set. I'll try with off. I'll see if that makes a difference.
Still haven't answered why it doesn't acknowledge my printer. Even though 8 accepted it fine.

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
Turning that feature off fixed the problem with the inserted letter dropping below the other letters also the insertion box was much, much smaller. it didn't actually fix the the g its squashed and compressed but it didn't drop bellow the line. I know now that's a wasted new feature.
So you cured one problem for me. Now if you can figure out which it doesn't accept my printer?

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
Good to know the text wrap is actually ON by default - in my beta builds
it was always OFF ...
The printing problem - tried USB connecting to eliminate the wireless part?

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
I use the Wireless so I can share the same printer with two different Machines, My G4-500 Tower and my Powerbook 17" 1.67GB.
I tried my install on the Firewire Drive that has OX.4.11 installed.
Both have same problem and btw: it just shows any Printer and nothing else.
Its odd I don't have this problem with Acrobat 7 or 8. No other aplication I have Office 2008 and others have this problem.

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
I've also tried just connected directly to USB port rather than through my airport connection.
Same thing.
Have went to support and opened up a Ticket. I suspect Acrobat 9 is Geared more to OS X.5 and my not even recognize my printer.

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
Receive word back from Adobe.
Suggested I do a reinstall of HP DJ990cse Driver.
Did so.
No difference.
Looking more and more like they dropped support of the printer and not admitting it.

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
I can't select any printers in Acrobat 9 using the page setup dialog box but I can select all my printers from the print dialog box. My guess is we don't need the page setup anymore just go right to print.

Oh yes, and do you have any third party plug-ins installed?>

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
I'm using X.4.11 (I don't keep up with names) a PowerPC machine (PowerBook 17" 1.67GB)
As for Plug-ins I am unaware of any Third party Plug-ins. Only Adobe installed Plug-ins.
I've sent a Bug report don't expect any action on it. They've probably broken the page setup for PowerPC and don't figure there will be many PPC Machines still around.

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
I've seen the Page Setup problem on an Intel Tiger machine, so it
isn't just PPC.

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
Have you heard of any work around or fix.
I downloaded my install form internet took and Hr 45 minutes on a 1 mb SDSL line. I then burn the Dmg to a DVD using System Utilities. I am wondering if there was a hiccup on the the file causing the problem. I wanted the Factory CD but end up with the download.

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
I also have this problem. Format for: "Any Printer" no other options.
G5 Power PC, Tiger 10.4.11 up to date, worked fine before with Acrobat 8. Haven't changed anything else, have reinstalled and tried all the updates. Everything seems great except
I have had cutting off problems on the bottom 0.5" of the page and Adobe addressed this problem before and said make sure you have the printer description selected. Well now I can't select the printer description. "Any Printer" is the only option. So needless to said the cutting off problem is back.
Please help. Nate

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
I have the same issue with my G5 Power PC, Tiger 10.4.11 running acrobat pro 9. It has been bothering me to no end since I work in prepress and print proofs constantly.
I have found a work around, which doesn't always work. If your output preview is on then it will allow you to choose the printer in pages setup. Once you turn off output preview then it goes back to Any Printer. Hope that helps you in the time being. This works for me most of the time but I have been printing out of acrobat 8 just to save time, knowing it will work.

Re: Two bugs in Acrobat 9?
I've had this problem as well. However, I have PitStop Pro and Quite Imposing Plus installed as well. If I have the Quite Imposing panel open then I can get to my printers in the Page Setup dialog, but if I have it closed then it doesn't bring up any printers. I am on a G4 running Acro 9.
