two designers working on the same file
We are two designers working for a magazine. We are splitting our work in two parts and we are working on two indesign files separately. To the end one of us is copying-paste the other work in his file but this is taking us a lot of time.
We want to work on the same file in the same time. Something like this: let say our magazine is on the file X on the server. I'm opening X-copy1, and working on it. My friend is opening X-copy2 and also working on it. When I'm saving my work I want to update the X file with my work. Also my friend when he is saving his work he wants the same.
In this way we don't have to copy paste our work from one to another. Do you have any experience with this? Maybe the file -> workgroup command is good for us? How can we make a graphic server like this?
Thanks

Re: two designers working on the same file
You can both work on the text using InCopy, but not on the layout. Even
with Version Cue, you'd be c/p'ing to get everything in one file.
If you're working on different parts of the magazine, then just break it
up into smaller files.
