Two functions off of one hyperlink

Is it possible, and if so how, to have two functions off of one hyperlink. I
tried a ahref and layer combination. What I want to happen is that someone
clcks on a button and a email window opens while going to the appropriate page.
Would some sort of onPageLoad tag work?
