Ubuntu 10.5 and sound
Greetings one and all!!
Here's the deal- installed Ubuntu 10.5 and have no sound. Creative
drivers for my Audigy4 were installed on install. Sound card works fine
in XP. So, where and how do i check/install drivers, manage sys sounds?
I know where to look in MS, but not here in my new *nix system. Can
anyone help me out here?
TIA

turned down Still need to know how to check for and install new drivers,
if needed. And, where do the drivers live, i.e. where can i find the
drivers or device manager to check driver status, sys functions?
TIA

iirc, Ubuntu defaults to some other sound input so you have to change it> Simon Jones wrote:> Sorry, it's 5.10 not 10.5. Checked mixer and all is on, not muted or>> On Mon, 29 May 2006 12:58:23 -0700, tuxtyro mumbled:>>>>> Greetings one and all!!

in admin>sounds or preferences>sounds... There's a place to change
source, second flag I think. I'm noob to Linux and ran into this one for
my onboard sound. Answer was at Absolute Beginners forum @ Ubuntu.
